Karen has some excellent Guest Speakers lined up. We have so many ideas (and so little time) but we will do our best to fit them in - really! Many ideas are still in the ‘What IF’ stage, so as the saying goes, watch this space. Of course there will be many of the familiar events...Revati is very good at those....but maybe with a twist......and Kat who is new to Muscat will be holding down the verbal fort. Dinara, will come into her own as the season and the generosity of the membership gets underway. Kadam will try very hard to make notes of all of this ....and to add a few special suggestions of her own. Sahilja and her gentle ways....will be out and about in the community she knows so well, adding more business partners.
The AWG Photography Club will have four new facilitators starting in September to oversee the ever popular outings and exhibitions and of course the much loved Calendar. Thank you, ladies for carrying on the tradition; and with so many creative and resourceful women in our membership, there is ample opportunity to create other ‘Interest Clubs’ and plenty of time this summer to give it some thought. Ishrat is more than happy to help.
I would like to say a special Thank You, to Margaret Haas Hurtado, Veronica Reider, Rani Rozario for the help and advice and their continued support.
As the post of Honorary President does not necessarily have to be taken on by the wife of the American Ambassador, the new board is very grateful to have the continuing support and positive outlook of Sandy Schmierer.
A special Thank You to Ishrat Rumy, Revati Sanzagiri and Rukhsana Mohammed for their continuity and enthusiasm for their on going posts.
The founder of what is now known as the American Women’s Group, Mimmi Wolle, not long ago made an observation about the early years of this organization….’That the most rewarding benefit of our organization was that, it nurtured an environment for women who might be far from home, yet realized they had many friends in a foreign land.’ We look forward to that sense of community once again in September, when we greet old friends and welcome new ones. Monique probably knows most of you - so Registration day should be fun! And doing the special meet and greet like the Statue of Liberty...but more friendly....is Kathy.
But for now…..we wish everyone a good and happy summer.
